Marriage records are available from Vital Records from 1919 to present. This record will state that a marriage took place. It will name the two parties, the date of the marriage, and the location of the marriage. To apply to access a marriage certificate, fill out the application provided by the New Jersey Vital Records Website.

For genealogical purposes, the marriage must have taken place more than 50 years ago and both parties must be deceased. Otherwise, proof of relationship is required to obtain the record.
